Commodity Structured Trade Finance

Commodity Structured Trade Finance (CSTF) is part of HSBC Commercial Banking (CMB). CMB offers a wide range of banking and financial services to meet the needs of both large corporates and local businesses. We adopt a relationship approach where relationship and product managers form individual client service teams, focussing on gaining a holistic understanding of the customer's business and financial needs first, followed by customising a comprehensive suite of solutions to support these needs.

HSBC CMB is segmented into 2 business groups to be more targeted and efficient in servicing our customers: 1. HSBC Corporate, which takes care of the mid- market enterprises and larger corporates of more than $45 million turnover.

2. HSBC Business, which services the small and medium enterprises of $45 million or less in turnover.

Principal Accountabilities

This is a newly created role in HSBC Singapore under Commodity Structured Trade Finance department. The purpose of the role is to assist the Transaction Management Unit (TMU) Singapore Head in the drive and the operational delivery of the CSTF TMU Collateral Management System within Singapore; assist in establishing best practice policies, processes and systems to deliver efficiently whilst addressing operational risk and related credit risk. CSTF will be delivered to GBM CMB customers and is expected to generate annual revenues of USD500M within 5 years, which is predicated upon a robust and rigorous TMU.

• Assist with the delivery of a robust Transaction Management Unit (TMU) operational infrastructure and reporting to underpin cross customer group sales initiatives in support of Group EM strategy and LIB strategy.

• Assist the TMU Head Singapore with the establishment of procedures and framework to provide post-sanction conformance on all Commodity Structured Trade Finanace (CSTF) facilities as well as ongoing transactional and collateral management

• Assist in the production and execution of CSTF Facility and transactional documentation

• Ensuring effective delivery and support for Internal Customers - CSTF Sales Force, Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking Markets (GBM).

• Assist in the timely and efficient delivery for External Customers – related CMB and GBM clients and new prospects

• Delivering accurate and relevant MI to all Stakeholders

• Provide advice and guidance to other members of the TMU and to both internal and external Clients and Stakeholders as and when needed whilst ensuring delivery of objectives

• Assist in the testing and implantation of the CMS system.

• Be comfortable and confident to delegate tasks to others, knowing objectives will be met within a given timeframe.

• Drive identification and development of best practice systems and processes for TMU functions, ensuring roll-out to designated Hubs and Spokes

• Keep abreast of market developments and disseminate knowledge to network

• Take ownership and have a “make it happen” approach

• Work collaboratively to support colleagues by actively consulting and ensuring delivery through delegation, personal action and active follow up where necessary

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of CSTF products ,risk, mitigants,and customers with minimum 5 years experience

• In-depth knowledge of best practice CSTF operational delivery systems and processes with minimum 5 years experience

• Strong understanding of the marketplace and issues likely to impact on effective delivery and/or risk management, as well as on customer satisfaction and revenues
