Vice President: Wealth Advisory Value Add Team

With approximately $338 billion in assets, BlackRock's US Wealth Advisory business is tasked with distribution and product development through the advisor-intermediated retail channel. BlackRock's Product Marketing group supports the efforts of the US Retail business primarily by leading and implementing marketing efforts to drive sales and retention of BlackRock's diversified product range.
BlackRock is looking for a Program Manager to join our Value Add team in USWA Marketing. In this role you will be directly responsible for providing education to financial advisors at major wirehouse and independent firms on investment management topics. The goal is to advise financial professionals on a range of Market related topics including: risk management, active/index, behavioral finance, asset allocation and location decisions, and various market outlooks. In addition, you will be expected to help wholesalers build financial advisor relationships through one-on-one meetings, conference calls and presentations.
Responsibilities:
- Act as ambassador of BlackRock, traveling approximately 75% of the time delivering value add programs speeches at major financial advisor events. Travel with individual wholesalers will also be required to help them win business and create new leads.
- Understand and discuss market related issues relevant to high net worth marketplace. Maintain current understanding of market developments specific to this client segment and proactively communicate related information to wholesalers and financial advisors.
- Respond promptly to investment management related inquiries from financial advisors, wholesalers, relationship management and marketing partners.
- Work with other members of the marketing team to develop white papers, newsletters other collateral to support programs.
- Develop strong personal relationships across functions – with the sales, investment specialist, and marketing teams.
Requirements:
- Over five years of experience working with high net worth clients or their advisors is required. Candidate must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of and interest in investment management, as well as significant understanding of investment products suitable for this marketplace.
- Series 7, 66 registered. Chartered Financial Analyst (or CIMA working towards CFA charter).
- Successful candidates will be highly credible presenters, able to deliver compelling and concise presentations leading to increased business. They will be able to successfully field in-depth wealth management related questions on a broad range of topics.
- The individual will also have strong written communications skills.
- Successful candidates will be self–starters able to effectively operate in a highly team-oriented and collaborative environment and efficiently manage their time. They will have strong interpersonal skills, and will be expected to develop warm relationships with financial advisors, clients, wholesalers, marketing, and other functions within the group.
- An MBA, CFP, or other advanced degree/qualification is highly preferred, but not mandatory.
