Position Summary

The Web Methods Developer/Analyst will work with the Catalent business community and the IT organization to interpret business requirements and define technical solutions. Work with team members to define time tables and project plans. Document, code, test, and implement technical solutions. Manage development according to the Catalent project life cycle, inclusive of communication, risk and issue identification, tracking and resolution.

This position is based in our  Somerset, NJ site. 

 

The Reporting Relationship:

Reporting to ERP Operations Manager

 

Key Responsibilities (90%)

The Web Methods Developer/Analyst will be responsible the following:

 

·         Interpret business requirements and define technical alternatives, tools, and platforms.

·         Work with other team members to define time tables and project plans.

·         Code, test, implement, and document technical solutions.

·         Participate with the business team and IT staff as appropriate in the design of solutions.

·         Collaborate with other technical areas to integrate across tiers, platforms, and responsibilities.

·         Share and transfer technical knowledge with the junior members of the development team.

·         Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved.

·         Provide guidance and direction to junior members of the development team.

·         Determines how results will be measured and completes a post-project evaluation to determine the degree to which the targeted results were achieved.

·         Ensures compliance with all Computer Systems Validation and Quality policies and procedures, ethics and security requirements.

·         Ensures designated systems comply with appropriate Legal and Fiduciary policies and practices.

 

 

Additional Activities Performed as Necessary (10%)

 

·         Mentors team resources as assigned regarding team or project leadership topics.

·         Identifies new tools and technologies to improve development capabilities.

·         Identifies opportunities for process improvement, leveraging Operational Excellence where possible.

·         Other tasks as assigned.

 

Education or Equivalent:

 

4-year degree in MIS/Computer Science preferred.  This requirement can be met by a combination of education (4 year degree in another discipline) and relevant work experience.

 

Knowledge/Skills Requirements

 

This position requires 2 – 3 years of hands-on development experience in designing, developing, testing and implementing complex B2B, Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) solutions using Software AG’s webMethods suite. Experience and understanding of computer systems validation is required.  The resource must demonstrate the ability to work with a cross functional team consisting of contractors, IT employees and business representatives.

 

This resource must possess the following skills:

·         Full life-cycle software development methodology experience

·         Have good understanding on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles.

·         Knowledge of all components of webMethods suite 8.x required.

·         Knowledge of SQL, Java, XML and .net.

·         Ability to develop flow services, java services, adapter services, adapter notifications, web services and Triggers using WebMethods Developer

·         Ability to build, manage and analyze webMethods Trading Partners using EDI (ANSI X12, UN/EDIFACT) formats.

·         Ability to configure JDBC, Oracle, JD Edwards and EDI Adapters to achieve connectivity to various information resources.

·         Knowledge of J.D. Edwards One-World and XPI is a plus.

·         Unix and Windows operating system skills

·         Functional knowledge of manufacturing, finance, distribution, and procurement functions is a plus

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users
