Day to Day Responsibilities:

·   Prepare U.S. federal and state tax returns for Corning Inc. subsidiaries

·   Prepare U.S. information returns for International subsidiaries

·   Calculate income tax provisions and reconcile tax accounts for U.S. subsidiaries

·   Review tax provisions and tax account balances calculated for International subsidiaries

·   Provide support for forecasting of the worldwide effective tax rate

·   Active role in accounting for income tax processes via review of forecast and actual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 (FAS 109)

·   Research and resolve tax issues as they arise

Projects involved with:

·   Respond to audit inquiries for Federal/State income tax audits

·   Provide support for tax planning team initiatives

·   Assist in internal control work related to maintenance of the Tax Department’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

·   Performance Excellence related projects focused on making tax compliance processes more accurate and efficient

Role within group:

Staff member of tax compliance team (provide support for all sections – Federal, state international)

Job Title: Income Tax Analyst

Required Education:

·   B.S. Business, Finance or Accounting (Accounting Preferred)

·   CPA or Masters in Tax (Desirable)

Required Years and Area of Experience:

1-3 yrs. Public accounting or Private industry tax experience preferred

Required Skills:

·   Strong financial accounting and analytical skills

·   Advanced PC skills, including Excel, Access and PeopleSoft

Desired Skills:

·   U.S. federal, state or international corporate income tax experience

·   IT skills to assist with handling tax software (OneSource) issues

·   Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Sec. 404, and ability to address documentation/process requirements

Soft Skills (Communication/Team/Leadership):

·   Ability to manage multiple priorities

·   Team Player

·   Ability to build effective working relationships with both tax and non-tax personnel, domestic and International
