Role / Principal Accountabilities:

Ø The role is for a trading application support person to work within the European Equity Technology Production Management Trade Floor Support Team.  The team provide support for Front Office Equities trading applications and exchange connectivity.

Ø Responsible for incident management and communication with the trading desks and senior management from both IT and the business during outages.

Ø Acts as a hub for communicating and dealing with issues between the trading desks, the exchanges, the IT, the middle office and compliance for technical issues.

Ø The role is about visibility, providing direction in a crisis and prioritising the business’ needs for the technology teams.

Ø Carry out 1st line investigations, rapidly assimilate relevant facts, resolve issues or pass them onto 2nd line support if necessary.

Skills Experience Required:

Ø A person who inspires confidence in their abilities and quickly make the right decisions.

Ø Someone who “owns” issues and is determined to get them resolved.

Ø They should have excellent communication skills and be comfortable interacting directly with business users and stakeholders.

Ø They should be reactive and maintain a strong sence of composure during a crisis. 

Ø They should have good technical skills (MS Office, etc) and be proficient in querying SQL databases.

Ø They should be very comfortable working in a Unix/Linux based development environment and using Unix tools and scripts.

Ø They should be willing and able to provide mentorship to junior members of the team.

Ø They should be willing to delegate, share their knowledge and experience, work to ensure that all of team members have the same skill level.

Ø They should be comfortable liasing with multiple teams within the organisation and driving resolution and change.

Ø They should seek out opportunities for improving the productivity of their team.

Ø They should have previous experience working in a Front Office support environment or equivilent.
