The Role

Bloomberg, the premier financial technology firm, offers exciting opportunities for highly motivated problem solvers seeking a challenging technical role in the financial industry. An extensive initial 16 week training program provides an excellent opportunity for those who did not study computer science to learn about software engineering and will provide you with the technical and financial skills needed to succeed in Bloomberg's fast-paced and dynamic organization. After training, you will immediately join a team where you will gain early responsibility for the full lifecycle of a portion of our product; making a tangible contribution to the design and implementation of software. This position leads to a variety of career paths, ranging from highly technical to more finance orientated and client-facing
roles.

Requirements

Strong academic background (BA/BSc, MSc or PhD) in any field or equivalent work experience.
One or two programming modules at university or similar experience through self-study.
Strong interest in programming.
Strong problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a desire to design and develop financial software applications.
Driven to analyze business problems and translate them into working software
applications.
Available to work full time in July 2012.
