A leading provider of financial services market data is urgently looking to recruit a 2nd line network engineer to join a brand new team in London. My client provides critical financial data to some of the biggest investment banks and financial organisations globally and is continuing to expand on the back of a hugely successful 2012.

They are in the process of moving to a 'follow the sun' client support model and have set up a NOC centre in London to cover their UK and European client base. The role of this team is to monitor and support their highly advanced and ever changing global network and ensure the smooth running of their operation.

My client uses the very latest Cisco and Juniper routing, switching and firewall technology and you will need to be familiar with support this technology. Certifications are not essential but the successful candidate will be roughly between CCNA and CCNP level.

As a 2nd line network engineer - NOC, support, MPLS, BGP, Multicast, Cisco, financial services - your responsibilities will be:

* Accepting support issues from 1st line support
* Using structure troubleshooting methods to identify the issues and resolve or escalate within strict SLAs
* Clearly and accurately document support issues
* Monitor the network and proactively look to address any issues
* Provide input into how the network sand support processes can be improved

To be considered for this fantastic position you must have the following critical skills and experience:

* 2nd line network engineer experience
* Strong knowledge and experience of MPLS and BGP protocols
* Extensive Multicast experience from an organisation the distributes multicast, rather than a recipient of multicast transmission - this will be heavily questioned in the interview process
* Either CCNP certification or a practical skill level between CCNA and CCNP
* Extensive experience working with Cisco routing and switching technology
* Ideally some Juniper experience - not essential

My client has a strong track record of progressing its employees to senior and/or management position based on performance. They are well established in their market space and have major plans for expansion throughout 2013. You will be working with a complex, global network that is constantly changes and being enhanced, even the most experienced of candidates can expect to learn a lot form this role.
