2nd Line/3rd line Support

Our client an established banking organisation in Glasgow are currently recruiting for a 2nd line support analyst for a 6 month rolling contract.

The role will see you providing 2nd line (3rd line desirable) application support and ensure SLA's are met for a broad range of applications running on Windows platform. In order to undertake this position you will have a broad knowledge of IT technologies and a good understanding of ITIL service management processes.

Key Responsibilities
Logging incidents onto the service desk software, categorise and prioritise, and appropriate resolution sought.
Must be a good problem solver, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to new and changing technologies.
Building, configuring and troubleshooting PC hardware component.

Technical Skills
Windows Server 2003 2008
VMWare
Checkpoint Firewalls
MS SQL Server 2005
Windows XP/7
Cisco IPCC Express
MS Office suite

Working knowledge of Windows XP/7.
Basic knowledge of server/client operations in a domain environment (2003 2008 Server) including Active Directory.
Familiarity with ITIL incident management methodologies highly desirable.

Personal Attributes
Individual must have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar IT support role.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer service ethic.
Lateral thinking problem solver.
Dynamic and empowered approach to work.
