2nd Shift Quality Inspection Engineer--AP5 Refrigeration Job

The Quality Inspection Engineer (QIE) leads operational and strategic efforts. This includes ownership and oversight for manufacturing test systems, measurements, gaging and reporting. Essential Responsibilities *Live, promote and teach the GE Production System philosophy and drive continuous improvement in the technical process areas. Coach and develop team leaders to ensure standard work and escalation processes are followed * Provide technical ownership to drive the development, procurement and implementation of factory quality measurement systems including gaging, test equipment, go/no-go decisions, and coordinate measurement (CMM) test systems. *Finished product testing (test loop and finished product audit) * Work within factory operations team to improve product quality through the identification and elimination of root cause of issues. * Work with New Product Introduction teams to evaluate and implement new testing technologies to support new product innovations, while improving outgoing quality. * Plan for the ongoing calibration, troubleshooting, spare part requirements and preventative maintenance of procured equipment * Utilize Lean manufacturing concepts to design and improve validation processes during the manufacturing process. * Drive to maintain a partnership with our shop operations personnel to promote a team that reacts aggressively to factory inefficiencies * Provide guidance to the broad NPI team regarding manufacturing process capabilities for application to new designs, processes or geometries. *Drive selection of Critical to Quality (CTQ's) characteristics to the vital few. Implement the appropriate measurement method on selected CTQ's. Qualifications/Requirements: BS Engineering degree or comparable experience required Excellent project tracking, project management and detailed planning skills Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing/operations Proven ability to influence and drive change Solid verbal/written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills Advanced computer skills - high proficiency in Microsoft products (especially Excel) and ability to grasp new systems quickly High initiative, self-starter, proactive, dedicated, results oriented, a team player Early and/or late hours often required to work around the manufacturing schedule / timing Some travel likely be required Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
