As part of the local RD design office, you will be part of a cross-functional design team, reporting to the Design office manager. Your objective will be to produce all assembly and manufacturing models and drawings for superconducting magnet systems consisting of machined, fabricated, sheet metal and cast parts.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Full-cycle design of assembly and manufacturing models and drawings for superconducting magnet systems consisting of machined, fabricated, sheet metal and cast parts
- Cross-functional post-production reviews to ensure cost efficient production
Person Specification
You will need to be a team player as you will be expected to liaise with project engineers, mechanical engineers, purchasing and shop floor staff to produce workable / cost efficient designs
Qualifications / Experience
- ONC/HNC or Apprenticeship Trained
- Solid Works Knowledge of 3D CAD - Ideally SolidEdge but those with SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer, Autodesk Inventor skills are welcome to apply.
- Minimum of 5+ years in industry as a draughtsman.
- Sound engineering / manufacturing background with experience of drawing fabricated and machined components and assemblies.
- Those with knowledge of drawing standard BS8888 would be at an advantage.
