3PL Project Manager Job in Richmond, Virginia US

Minimum Requirements:
1. Five years progressive general management experience in logistics operations to include five years' specific experience in supply chain management, logistics analysis, hazardous materials management. Experience must include experience with commercial 3PL sourcing, selection and oversight, as well as logistics management and material control, distribution and storage of Hazardous Materials/Waste.
2. Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management or Business Management or equivalent combination of education and 3rd Party Logistics Management experience.
3. Must have experience in a Department of Defense (DOD) supply chain operational environment to include DoD financial processes, regional and global supply policies.
4. Must have an in-depth knowledge and experience in demand planning and requirements forecasting.
5. Must be able to work independently in implementing sound personnel management and material management policies and procedures to ensure successful accomplishment of the procurement, receipt, storage, issue, and special functions related to customer requirements.
6. Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Secret level clearance.
7. Must be articulate, creative, a problem solver, a decision maker, and a change agent.
8. Must have excellent organizational and planning skills.
9. Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including, Word, Excel, Access and E-mail business software.
10. Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.

Job Description:
The 3PL Project Manager (PM) will plan, direct, and execute specific Supply Chain Management functions, DOD logistics policies and initiatives, and perform financial management procedures. The 3PL PM shall possess experience and familiarity with commercial 3PL sourcing and inventory management procedures commensurate with the requirements of the contract. The 3PL PM shall be authorized to act on behalf of the Contractor during the PM's absence. The 3PL PM manages and oversees overall supply chain operations, including purchasing and inventory of materials as well as selection of vendors; makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations; coordinates and resolves issues regarding existing and new products; and interacts with customers to ensure that all requirements are being met. Will represent the company, as appropriate, in its relationship with customers, employees, competitors, and suppliers. May perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
