We are offering a position as a Civil Engineer at ABB Oy, Power Systems unit in Vaasa. You will actively participate in the development of substation civil engineering. You will design, prepare, and review civil aspects of projects, such as earthworks, foundations, control buildings, steel structures, etc. You will collaborate with chief project engineers and project managers, and manage project activities with contractors and internal teams. Managing the schedule and quality of civil designs by external consultants is also part of your job. We require a B.Sc. degree in Civil or Structural/Construction Engineering, or a degree in Engineering with a major in one of the aforementioned subjects. Studies in mechanical engineering are an advantage. You have several years of applicable work experience. We require a basic knowledge of applicable standards (building codes, Eurocode), as well as knowledge of foundation and steel structure design. Knowledge of CAD, particularly MicroStation, is appreciated. Knowledge of MS Office, Lotus Notes, SAP, and STAAD is an advantage. You are a good communicator, you make things happen, and you don't object to travel. You speak and write English fluently. Other language skills (Finnish, Swedish, Russian) are an advantage.
