ABS Analyst – Associate Director/Director
Fitch’s European Structured Finance team maintains existing ratings and assigns ratings to new structured finance transactions. Fitch currently rates Structured Finance transactions across four main asset classes: Asset Backed Securities, Residential Mortgage Backed Securities, Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities and Structured Credit.
Fitch Ratings maintains surveillance on over 1,500 European structured finance transactions.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking Credit Analysts on Analyst or Associate Director level to join the European Structured Finance Group. The successful candidate will be part of a team of analysts rating mainly European consumer ABS transactions such as auto loan/lease and UK credit card securitisations.
The role encompasses:
- Analysing transactions to provide high quality credit opinions to investors and other market participants
- Implementing appropriate default and cash flow modelling;
Scrutinizing transaction legal documents to ensure compliance with Fitch criteria and models
- On-site review of underwriting and servicing of transaction originators
- Preparing rating proposals for presentation to internal rating committees
- Communicating rating rationale to investors and other market participants through presale reports and presentations and meetings;
- Working with transaction arrangers and originators to understand assets characteristics and structural features of the transactions;
Assist in development of research and criteria
- Participation in internal training seminars and gaining knowledge of rating all structured finance asset classes
Person Specification:
This is a demanding and exciting role so we are looking for highly motivated candidates.
- All candidates must demonstrate a familiarity with the financial markets, preferably with fixed income instruments including structured finance products.
- Candidates will be numerate and analytical, with advanced Excel skills.
- A central element of the position is communicating your analysis, both internally and externally. Therefore candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Fluency in other European languages is desired.
- The perfect candidate has a banking background, preferably having experience in the origination of consumer credit products like unsecured consumer and auto loans or credit cards.
