ACADEMIC AND EVENT SCHEDULING COORDINATOR

Job Ad Body:

The Academic and Event Scheduling Coordinator is part of the Registrar’s office whose primary activity is to provide exceptional front line support to students, staff, faculty and parents in the areas of registration, record keeping, classroom management, event scheduling,  academic services, grading and other processes assumed by this team.

 

The Academic and Event Scheduling Coordinator will manage the scheduling and reservation process of University facilities. The AESC Coordinator will advise students, faculty and staff in the planning of programs and events. The AESC Coordinator will work closely with other campus curators and provide event management application training and support, manage user account access to desktop and online applications, and ensure that space policies are appropriately documented and enforced.  The AESC Coordinator will be expected to provide room utilization statistics that will assist in future space planning and room maintenance.  The AESC Coordinator  will act as vendor liaison to assess software application upgrades and their applicabilty to the Tufts environment.  The AESC Coordinator will also actively participate in the analysis and implementation of long range goals, special projects, and software selection committees related to space management and scheduling.

 

The Academic and Event Scheduling Coordinator  will be responsible for booking the space assignments for courses during the academic year. He/she will work closely with the Commencement Committee and the Orienation committee to ensure space requirements for such events are met.  This position will be responisible for maintaining the final exam schedule and assist when needed in the course set up scheduling.

   

Basic Requirements:
High School diploma and one plus (1+) years' experience in student activities or college union; experience planning campus events; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; understanding of and commitment to issues of cultural diversity and college student development; demonstrated leadership, advisory, organization, and management skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
 Experience with Event Management systems is preferred.

Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Possible periods of overtime. Must be willing to work during and assist with Commencement weekend.
