Account Director, Mobile Job in London, Midlands UK

Job Purpose:
Our Client is looking for a highly motivated Account Director to join their Mobile Group. In this role you will manage a team of Account Managers to drive usage and revenue from their Mobile services whilst positioning the Club as the leading provider of Official Football related mobile services worldwide.
Reporting to the Head of Mobile, you will be accountable for the team that manages all mobile distribution channels, including network/carrier accounts, that they distribute mobile content to. You will ensure that they collect requirements and launch the right services for each market, achieve the best visibility for their content and that they drive maximum usage and revenue from existing and new services through planning and executing marketing plans and building strong relationships with customers.
As a member of the Mobile team you will be responsible for working with Sponsor partners, Direct to Consumer Channels and internal/external suppliers to ensure that they launch the best Club services in the marketplace that help deliver the club's aggressive revenue goals.
Key Objectives
- To manage and direct the Mobile Account Management team to drive growth from our Client's global mobile games business.
- To be the mobile expert in the markets that they distribute products and services, knowing the local market dynamics and setting the correct strategy in each country.
- Identify current and future market trends and put plans in place to lead the market.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Assist in setting and executing the Mobile strategy, managing the sales and marketing process to deliver monthly, quarterly and yearly sales targets.
- Manage and deliver the sales strategy and financial forecasts for the Mobile business (Carrier, D2C, Content Aggregators, Handset Manufacturers and other third party channels).
- Develop and maintain senior level relationships within the key distribution channels.
- Strategically position the Company in the market, setting and implementing local strategies in each market and putting in place short, medium and long term plans whilst monitoring the competition.
- Ensure that they scope and define the mobile requirements from various distribution channels and that internal/external content partners deliver the best products on time and to budget, whilst maximizing ROI.
- Play a key role in driving the growth and development of the Direct to Consumer (D2C) business.
- Be accountable for the revenue target, budgets and KPIs set for the Mobile business.
- Oversee marketing plans and budgets, ensuring that they measure and achieve the best ROI on each campaign run.
- Provide analysis and long term strategic thinking to help shape and drive the mobile product development plans for their worldwide distribution channels.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure that they have the correct support for the products and services, whilst ensuring that they receive key information from the Account Team, such as regular handset priority lists for each market/channel.
- Be the expert on the featurephone smartphone business strategy in each country, understanding the opportunities and impact for business and how to monetize the different platforms.
- Ensure they have the best visibility for products 100% of the time on all distribution channels.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure revenue is booked in line with contractual obligations for each channel.
- Understand and assist in educating external partners on the Company's Mobile Vision Objectives.
- Where needed, identify key partners to support regional operations in the key disciplines of hosting, billing, operations and marketing.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Must possess exceptional experience, knowledge and contacts within the international mobile industry with a strong commercial background in sales, business development and account management.
- Must have experience of selling into mobile carriers at all levels and managing the revenue growth of mobile content based products and services.
- Knowledge of the EMEA and Asian mobile content business, the current trends and how they differ from country to country/region to region. The candidate must have experience of working in emerging markets.
- Experience of recruiting and managing a team of sales and marketing professionals, providing regular senior level support to help drive the business forward.
- Experience of managing a regional marketing strategy and budget and overseeing marketing plans and ROI analysis.
- Must be able to show a strong understanding of mobile technology, as well as the mobile distribution ecosystem (on and off deck), including billing methods and best practices.
- Good understanding of the sports sector and a natural affinity with the Football sector as a whole.
- Ability to present information to upper management in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to and build relationships with senior customer contacts.
- Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English essential, with additional languages an advantage.
- Excellent time management and leadership skills with the ability to perform under pressure, to meet deadlines and to work alone.
- Must be highly driven, self-motivated and a self-starter.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
