Account Executive – Maintenance Agreements
Job Summary: This position is a sales “hunter” focused on business development.
- Develop new base business with focus on monthly and annual quotas.
- Supervise the maintenance of healthy customer relationships from the perspective of sales responsibility.
- Assume responsibility for certain existing customer relationships as assigned by the Sales Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that all sales activities are performed in accordance with company practices through the effective use of time management.
- Support the Sales Manager in the development of objectives and strategies for business development.
- Perform research and make client contact to identify and prioritize potential customers.
- Prepare and implement business development action plans for targeted customers.
- Develop and prepare estimates, proposals and presentations.
- The time commitment to MA sales will be 80% of the customer workweek. The customer workweek is defined as those hours when the customer is at work. The remaining hours are to be spent on paperwork and estimating, and those approved project opportunities.
- Call expectation will be a minimum of 20 per week. A call is defined as a visit to the facility, not a phone call.
- Attend weekly meetings with the Sales Manager in order to provide update on sales objectives, review individual results, and develop short-term forecasts.
- Review weekly reports to monitor sales results in comparison to quotas. Develop plans and take actions where required to obtain necessary results. Work to maximize individual strengths while using teamwork to offset weaknesses.
- Attend meetings, as necessary, with current and future customers to ensure healthy relationships and/or successful business development. Coordinate with CW personnel to maintain strong customer relationships.
- Attend company meetings and/or sales meetings as required.
- Perform additional assignments as requested by the Sales Manager.
Requirements
- Four year degree or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience
- Normal industry experience in the same or similar field of five years
- Must have high energy and drive to generate new business
- Able and willing to spend a lot of time cold calling clients
- Focus and orientation for growth. The company’s success is dependent on growing our customer base.
- Ability to handle day-to-day management tasks relating to work assignments.
- Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with customers.
- Excellent administrative and analytical skills.
- Ability to use Word, Excel, Email, and ContactWise software packages.
- Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner.
- Ability to sell effectively in the areas of Maintenance Agreements. Strive to achieve and/or exceed annual sales quotas.
Physical Requirements
- Physically capable of working easily and skillfully with hands with the ability to grasp tightly frequently for climbing ladders, holding power and hand tools, carrying and holding materials of the trade in place for moderate periods of time.
- Exerting push/pull force to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- See well (either naturally or with correction).
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds and be comfortable working at heights.
- Stand, stoop, squat, kneel, or crouch constantly.
- Walking and/or stair climbing constantly.
- Reaching with the arms overhead occasionally with or without weight.
- Ability to wear safety equipment. (ie: safety glasses, safety shoes, and hardhats).
