Account Management Services, Benelux Institutional Client Team Job description
Ensure the commercial success of BlackRock by defining and managing the service for Institutional Benelux clients, in line with BlackRock’s strategic business objectives. Specifically, take responsibility for the servicing of a set of existing client accounts to ensure the consistent delivery of a high quality and seamless service offering. Furthermore, support account managers in preparation for account review meetings and other account management tasks.
Typical activities
- Specific responsibilities will vary according to experience but typical activities include:
- taking responsibility for the servicing of a set of existing client accounts: periodical reporting, answering queries, delegating queries to appropriate internal teams, monitoring progress to resolution and ensuring that responses are timely and of a high quality;
- gaining a clear understanding of clients’ service requirements, storing details in client relationship management systems and sharing information internally in order to contextualise and motivate support from internal teams;
- maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing clients by meeting and exceeding client expectations;
- ensuring sufficient familiarity with BlackRock’s existing products and operational;
- ensuring clients have a high degree of understanding and satisfaction with BlackRock’s services by effective communication of available resources and key benefits, such that the service is commensurate with the revenue earned;
- identifying areas where BlackRock’s services meet the client requirements, sharing information within BlackRock and contributing to future development of value-added services in order to maintain competitive advantage;
- assisting internal operational teams with the formulation of service enhancements;
- supporting the account managers with the preparation of presentation materials for account reviews, sales plan management and other account management tasks;
- assisting with the protection of existing revenues by ensuring that client service needs are consistently met in a commercial way;
- reviewing own service performance, aiming to achieve excellent results in client satisfaction surveys, and working closely with other team members in achieving overall strategic business objectives
Key skills
- Experience working in the financial client servicing discipline;
- proactive, people oriented team player with good listening and networking skills, an enthusiastic, upbeat communication style and a passion for success;
- a self starter who can quickly analyse client service needs, suggest low risk, high margin and effective service strategies for a high volume of clients and delegate effectively to ensure fast delivery;
- excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise effectively and a high regard to risk management;
- ability to network and develop relationships with pension managers, consultants, administrators and other third party stakeholders, and to communicate and interact effectively with personnel at all levels within BlackRock when orchestrating the delivery of client service needs;
- demonstrate a confident project management style when defining the service approach with product and operational teams and when supporting the take on and change management process with the client control teams;
- exhibit drive to meet and exceed client expectations and to develop BlackRock’s competitive status as a leading client service provider;
- an understanding of the Dutch pension fund market, investment industry and competitive landscape;
- a sound technical understanding of investments and the broad operational framework in which they are managed;
- proficiency in using Microsoft office programs and proficient English language skills;
- economics degree/ qualification.
