Account Manager

Transaction Banking Solutions (TBS) is a specialised sales unit within IBM, providing tailored working capital solutions, including payables, receivables, cash and treasury management and more, that allow our customers to:

Role Purpose:
Reporting the Account Executive Head of Transaction Banking Qld, this role will see the successful candidate manage the transactional requirements of a client portfolio. In this capacity you will:
- Develop deep and trusted client partnerships by understanding their drivers of success and assisting to enable innovative transaction banking solutions that deliver exceptional business outcomes.
- Develop effective relationships with Relationship Executives and other internal business partners to deliver exceptional client outcomes, optimise our client service value proposition, identify cross sell opportunities, and underpin client retention.
- Achieve product cross/upsell, revenue and profitability growth objectives.
- Direct responsibility for the relationship management of a client segment and/or client portfolio;
- Growing the market share of each client and product segment in line with the strategies designated by the Account Executive and/ or Head of Transaction Banking Qld;
- Developing close working relationships with key client executives and staff to gain a thorough understanding of the key business drivers and motivation of their organisation;
- Developing the relationship with clients to gain an intimate understanding of their business, and particularly their working capital requirements;
- Implementing strategies to maximise profitability of clients, enhance cross-sell ratios and ensure client retention and grow market share;
- Co-ordinating productive working relationships with the relevant Business Development teams, and other product areas to optimise cross-sell opportunities and referral outcomes;
- Keep abreast of trends relating to the transactional banking market in terms of competition and industry changes. Analyse and interpret information to ensure that industry team, TBS remains relevant.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
Essential
- At least 3 years experience in banking or related financial services, in either a client service, relationship management or sales role
- Demonstrated ability to go above and beyond to address the needs of clients
- Be innovative
- High level of problem solving capability
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to build lasting client relationships
Desirable
- Degree or diploma in a related field
