Account Manager, Deals Publishing Group recruitment

At Thomson Reuters, we deliver intelligent information quickly and efficiently, so professionals have knowledge to act. We combine industry expertise with innovative technology to deliver critical information to leading decision makers in the financial, legal, tax and accounting, intellectual property and scientific, healthcare, and media markets, powered by the world's most trusted news organization.

The Investment Banking division at Thomson Reuters is seeking an Account Manager to work in the Deals Publishing department to sell subscriptions of its private equity news and data products. As this is largely a telephone based sales position, the successful candidate must have a proven track record of successfully achieving and exceeding target goals via this medium.

The Account Manager must work well in strategic selling; this includes working with existing customers and prospecting and growing new ones. This individual will be skilled in consultative selling: listening to clients' and prospects' requirements and tailoring packages to meet their requirements. The Account Manager will be a self-motivated individual who constantly strives to exceed their sales quota.

The Account Manager will be required to make an average of 50 outbound calls per day, consisting of cold calls, warm calls and follow up calls, as well as following up on inbound enquiries. As this position is client-focused, the candidate will need to demonstrate strong written skills as well as strong verbal skills. The candidate will be expected to monitor goings-on in the private equity and investment banking industries to help themselves maximize their sales opportunities.

Benchmarks for success will be a combination of overall sales revenue, revenue growth from existing accounts and the number of new customers brought onto the customer file.

This position is located in San Francisco, CA, with the opportunity to travel to business conferences to meet with prospects and customers.
