FARO Technologies is seeking an experienced capital sales person who needs to make an above average income to sell our coordinate measurement and imaging devices.

Our Account Manager for the East Coast Region will work out of a home office and should be based in either greater Boston, Hartford or Schenectady area. Relocation is not available for this position. 

FARO Laser Trackers improve productivity by capturing high accuracy measurements instantly and efficiently across wide ranges and extreme temperatures.

SCOPE:
Perform functions to provide on-site demonstrations, generate revenues, and identify additional sales opportunities for the assigned line of the Company’s products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Generate sales revenues by performing product demonstrations atselected customer sites. Evaluate customer requirements for this purpose; including installation location, mounting requirements,customer engineering drawings, CAD data, GDT and inspectionplans.
2. Identify additional sales opportunities outside of traditional channels.
3. Utilize all available resources including sales management, Inside Sales Specialists, Applications Engineers, marketing and others to advance and close sales.
4. Work as part of the sales team to generate ideas for company sales opportunities, processes and systems.
5. Provide feedback to FARO RD for product improvement.
6. Act as point of contact and provide technical support to potential customers during the evaluation period.
10. Review and maintain relationships with customers within assigned region and assist in growing new sales opportunities as identified.
11. Provide strategic input to the Regional Manager. Identify and report on potential opportunities to promote sales growth.
12. Establish budgets and ensure compliance with expense guidelines. Update database and generate reports as required.

OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Perform or assist with any departmental operations, as required or directed, to maintain work flow and meet production schedules and requirements.
2. Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules.
3. Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals,resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.
4. Recommend revisions to control documentation such as production checklists, operating procedures and policy manuals. Make and distribute authorized modifications as directed.
5. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Perform other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Occasional lifting of very light and lightweight materials, some lifting of average or heavy weight materials over 60 lbs, occasional bending, stooping and upper body arm rotation, frequent pushing, pulling, sitting, standing and reaching and some climbing.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: 

Various mathematical, graphic, design and database software programs,computer and peripherals, mechanical and computerized measuring devices, and standard office equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:

- At least 3 years proven and successful track record in sales of capital equipment/ industrial sales (automotive, aerospace, power generation, metalworking, machinery, etc.)
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of CAD is required.
-Metrology and quality control, familiarity with CMM's and CNC equipment strongly preferred. 
-Strong closer that can execute sales opportunities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to isolate and identify technical problems, formulate and demonstrate solutions
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to travel extensively within territory
- Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. on a regular basis

COMPENSATION AND OTHER:

1. Draw against commission. Typical first year is approximately $80,000 - $120,000 USD, second year $100,000 USD plus. Unlimited potential. The sky is the limit!
2. Protected territory, no cap on commissions, payout on shipment of goods.
3. Complete technical and sales training. Guaranteed non-repayable draw during 16-week training period.
