A newly created role, Accelrys is looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our existing sales team in Bangalore. As Account Manager you will be responsible for all activities related to acquiring, maintaining and retaining key clients throughout the sub-continent within the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries, with a particular focus on enterprise informatics solutions for this marketplace.
Responsible for account development, proposing and presenting Accelrys’ solutions, and closing the sales of software and services, this represents a significant opportunity with the leading scientific enterprise RD software and services company.
With a highly successful and demonstrable track record of closing new business in the Pharmaceutical or Scientific RD market, you will have proven business development experience, the ability to fully understand the needs of our customers and prospects, as well as strong executive-selling skills to build account relationships at an Executive and Senior management level. Qualified to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a scientific discipline, you will be responsible for driving enterprise level sales and the growth of Accelrys in the sub-continent.
The successful candidate will be able to achieve and exceed set sales quotas, be confident communicating at all levels and competent managing multi-level, multinational, complex sales opportunities. Additionally, experience of selling to the downstream divisions (e.g. product development manufacturing) of Pharmaceutical or Scientific RD companies would be beneficial.
Fluency in English both written and verbal is essential, and regional Indian language skills would be a distinct advantage.
Frequent domestic travel and sometimes international travel will be a requirement of this role and will include overnight stays
