We are currently seeking an Account Manager join the team as a member of our growing Seattle Special Projects Group (SPG) Division.  If you are customer focused and collaborative with a desire to grow and passion for delivering, this position is for you!

In this exciting opportunity as Account Manager, this person will be developing customers to their fullest potential and maintaining a high level of satisfaction between our customers and McKinstry. In addition,  Account Managers are responsible for identifying sales opportunities and sales planning. Account Managers take care of customers and uphold our customer commitments, delivering McKinstry value around all of our service cycle.   All the while, Account Managers demonstrate integrity, honesty and interpersonal skills.


The Account Manager will contribute to reaching McKinstry’s corporate goals, SPG department goals, and sales team goals and develop accounts by determining objectives and strategizing to achieve them. This person will prioritize their time and work load to maintain customer satisfaction and produce accurate estimates, assemble quality proposals and demonstrate good written communication skills utilizing McKinstry estimating guidelines and proposal formats. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent presentation and verbal communications skills when presenting to individuals, clients, potential clients and co-workers. We are also seeking someone who can display strategic selling methods to include listening, uncovering needs and providing solutions to meet discovered needs. As an Account Manager, this individual will maintain thorough records and complete accurate contract start ups of new contracts and demonstrate the ability to effectively project manage some jobs and effectively hand off others to project managers. Other responsibilities include providing accurate and timely reporting on sales pipelines, account assignments, expenses and mileage reimbursements.


The Account Manager will be expected to perform relief and/or project duties and responsibilities such as substituting for others in the department. They will also respond to day-to-day concerns and resolve existing or anticipated problems. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and good organizational skills with a working knowledge of mechanical systems and corporate “cycle of services.” Applicants should have the ability to effectively use technology resources including computers and programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Service Alliance and Sales Alliance.


Educational and experience requirements include 4 years of college level training (or equivalent)  in business, engineering, construction, management, or business administration subjects. We are looking for an equivalent of five years previous sales experience with a mechanical contractor or a related organization, i.e. manufacturer’s representative or controls, with responsibilities for identifying leads and closing sales.
