Kaiser Permanente Account Manager Modesto, CA The SBU Account Manager is accountable for developing executing account book of business strategies to optimize membership, growth, retention targets. These jobs have two levels. The functions, tasks, competencies are the same. It is expected that staff placed in senior jobs will have demonstrated competencies at a significantly higher level will be expected to work w/ more complex accounts or books of business. Essential Functions: - Develop execute account /or book of business plans to ensure attainment of book-specific goals - Analyze the business opportunities in group/book of business - Identify confirm customer/broker needs business strategies - Collect specific business information competitive data - Identify gaps between current state analyze impact of moving to optimal business position - Renew group at the right rate - Collect deliver data required to drive the right rate - Review rate data to determine drivers of the rate change - Plan conduct customer/broker plan approach - Renew groups w/ the right product benefit mix - Collect required demographic competitor data - Identify customer needs KP business goals - Identify competitors strengths weaknesses - Analyze the group's demographics, utilization - Develop product benefit strategy plan implementation - Develop open enrollment strategies to achieve growth targets - Collect analyze key accounts customer industry information - Create opportunities for revenue growth retention - Develop sales strategy for increasing membership retention - Collaborate w/ brokers to develop a strategy to achieve growth targets - Identify analyze customer needs business strategy for new hires non-open enrollment activities - Develop sales strategy for increasing membership /or retention - Negotiate the strategy w/ customer/broker - Develop execute member sales strategy - Use pricing products to create opportunities for growth - Identify groups where growth opportunity exists re-rate when appropriate - Evaluate cost benefit of various price/product scenarios - Plan propose options for customers that have a high likelihood of driving membership retention - Continuously engage customers channels to understand KP's value from the customers point of view align our capabilities to fill their needs - Identify the customer/broker key personnel, the functions they perform, their role in the decision-making process, their opinions about KP - Identify customer needs develop appropriate solutions linking: KP mission vision values; key quality measures; key care management initiatives; current service initiatives - Keep customers/brokers informed on health care industry trends - Manage the process to ensure follow-up on customer/broker issues concerns in a timely accurate manner. Notate HERA accurately w/ all pertinent information by end of day - Engage KP Leadership team in overall account management plans - Share account/book of business plans w/ KP leaders - Coach KP leadership on roles, issues, opportunities - Build maintain broker/channel partnerships to increase business potential - Identify engage key decisions-makers influencers in designated brokerage/consultant firms - Educate brokers/consultants on KP product portfolio how to appropriately position KP for success in customer accounts - Develop execute a plan for personal professional development - Identify competencies required for your current job or future opportunities Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, business administration, or equivalent experience. - 2+ years of experience in marketing, business development, /or managing business to business relationships in the healthcare industry. - Life license required or ability to obtain one w/in 120 days of hire date. - Excellent customer service phone skills good rapport building skills. - Ability to communicate at a high level. - Strategic thinker, strong negotiation skills. - Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, quick learner of key information. - Ability to take direction give direction to others, a collaborative work style. - Knowledge of experience w/ employee health benefits. Preferred Qualifications: - MHA, MPH, or MBA. - Knowledge of underwriting processes, healthcare products (SBU), contracts. - Bilingual Spanish.
