For our customer in Rotterdam we are looking for an
Account Manager(plastics) (M/V)
The function
The Account Manager is responsible for the ongoing procurement of high quality raw materials (plastics) to be exported to our clients in the Far East. To this extent, he/she maintains and grows the commercial relationship with existing suppliers and develops new procurement opportunities in the European market. Being able to work independtly and sharing market knowledge is essential for the role of the Account Manager. The Account Manager will be part of the Procurement team and reports directly to the Procurement Manager.
· Frequently communicating and travelling to meet with existing suppliers
· Negotiating terms and conditions of supplier agreements
· Maintaing quality specifications and resolving quality issues as they arise
· Gathering market information for further analysis
· Researching new market opportunities in close cooperation with the logistics team
· Presenting the company to potential suppliers
· Frequently communicating with the back office and the logistics team while striving for operational excellence
We request
· HBO (Higher Vocational Education) in e.g. marketing or economics
· Professional appearance
· 3-5 years experience in a procurement type of role
· Strong negotiation and analytical/problem solving abilities
· Fluency in Italian and English with extra language French or Spanish
· Valid passport/ID and driver’s license with safe driving record
· Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel)
· Self-motivation, entrepreneurial mentality combined with strong time- management skills
