Our Americas Distribution is currently seeking an Account Service Manager.
This position is based in Stamford, CT.
The primary role of the Account Service Manager is to support the day to day activities of the National Account Managers in both the Retail and Institutional channels of Americas Distribution Institutional Sales Service organization. The incumbent will also support other members of Account Service Management team when necessary. A critical component of this role is to maintain the service standards of the Account Service Support group always keeping our mission top of mind: 'To represent a professional and unified Legg Mason while delivering the highest possible caliber of service to our clients, unwavering support to our National Account Managers, and strong partnerships with our Affiliates.' A secondary role will be to create and produce standard reporting such as product availability guides, pipeline, and at risk reporting. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self starter with impeccable quality standards and who puts team success first.
Key Responsibilities and Duties Include, but not Limited to:
National Account Manager Partnership
- Partner with National Account Managers in the retirement channel, servicing and understanding the competitive landscape of partner firms;
- Act as extension of National Account Manager with internal partners, including Marketing, Product and Business Management:
- Serve as primary resource for all questions/issues related to your clients and channel;
- Responsible for knowing all that is going on with the account (joint initiatives, pipeline, at risk mandates, outstanding contracts/addendums firm deliverables).
Project Management
- Work with all functional areas of Legg Mason to drive projects to completion. Role may vary between project manager and participant but desired outcome is the same ' represent and advance the best interests of National Accounts.
Communications Coordination
- Coordinate all home office communications pertaining to product changes, product launches, PM Conference calls, etc.;
- Update and maintain client distribution lists to ensure smooth and consistent delivery of electronic communications;
- Ensure prospectuses, summary prospectuses and supplements are delivered to client firms when needed (annual updates or product changes/updates).
Client Contact
- Gather and respond to periodic requests for regulatory, due diligence, or ad-hoc reporting;
- Coordinate and facilitate client due diligence and other meetings when needed.
Resource Management
- Utilize analytics software (Genesys) to assist account manager in analyzing sales trends and research possible business opportunities at your partner firms;
- Utilize CRM to keep communications lists, contacts, and activities updated. Leverage reporting capabilities for day to day duties
Reporting
- Maintain client key contacts, organizational charts and other information in CRM;
- Maintain pipeline of all current business opportunities, wins and at risk mandates.
Travel
Travel to New York, NY and Baltimore, MD offices may be frequent.
Ideal Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience;
- Minimum of 5+ years industry experience preferred;
- Meaningful understanding of the investment industry;
- Experience in the completion of RFP's, RFI's and Due Diligence requests preferred;
- Superior verbal and written communication skills;
- Solid editing and project management experience;
- Motivated self-starter with ability to implement tactical initiatives;
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task;
- A self-motivated individual who can deal with changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge, Skills Abilities:
- Able to be present in the office during regular business hours unless otherwise authorized
- Strong knowledge of business and functional areas. Familiar with its practices and procedures
- Strong client relationship management and servicing skills.
