Accountant – 12 month contract recruitment
Our client is a company limited by guarantee and is a charitable, non-profit making body, with a Christian ethos.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accountant as part of a small professional team reporting to the Head of Finance. Responsible for the management accounts and bookkeeping for a number of operating units the role is an initial 12 month fixed term contract. The post is subject to a six month probationary period.
Responsibilities
- · Responsible for the management of accounting functions for a number of operating units
- · Management of the payroll function to include circa 150 staff
- · Preparation of audit files and assisting external auditors with all queries
- · Accounts Payable- This will include invoice processing, statement reconciliation, preparation of cheque runs.
- · Accounts Receivable – to include all management of debtors.
- · Bank – posting of bank transactions and reconciliation of bank accounts.
- · Weekly cash flow forecasting for the group.
- · Supporting the Head of Finance in the production of cash flows, budgets and Ad hoc duties.
Job relationships
- · Working as part of a small professional team reporting to the Head of Finance.
- · Interaction with managers/administration personnel in the organisation
- · Relationships with third parties outside the organisation
Qualifications and Experience
- · Part Qualified Accountant
- · Working knowledge of SAGE accounting software and Micropay
- · Prior experience in a similar level role
- · Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Windows
- · Self-motivated individual with drive, enthusiasm and commitment
- · Excellent organisational, analytical and time management skills
- · Can-do, will do attitude
- · Flexibility and willingness to travel within Dublin - the role will require you to travel and work from various operating units within the Dublin area.
- · Proficiency in sign language would be advantageous
