Accountant – 12 month contract recruitment

Our client is a company limited by guarantee and is a charitable, non-profit making body, with a Christian ethos.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accountant as part of a small professional team reporting to the Head of Finance. Responsible for the management accounts and bookkeeping for a number of operating units the role is an initial 12 month fixed term contract. The post is subject to a six month probationary period.

Responsibilities

· Responsible for the management of accounting functions for a number of operating units

· Management of the payroll function to include circa 150 staff

· Preparation of audit files and assisting external auditors with all queries

· Accounts Payable- This will include invoice processing, statement reconciliation, preparation of cheque runs.

· Accounts Receivable – to include all management of debtors.

· Bank – posting of bank transactions and reconciliation of bank accounts.

· Weekly cash flow forecasting for the group.

· Supporting the Head of Finance in the production of cash flows, budgets and Ad hoc duties.

Job relationships

· Working as part of a small professional team reporting to the Head of Finance.

· Interaction with managers/administration personnel in the organisation

· Relationships with third parties outside the organisation

Qualifications and Experience

· Part Qualified Accountant

· Working knowledge of SAGE accounting software and Micropay

· Prior experience in a similar level role

· Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Windows

· Self-motivated individual with drive, enthusiasm and commitment

· Excellent organisational, analytical and time management skills

· Can-do, will do attitude

· Flexibility and willingness to travel within Dublin - the role will require you to travel and work from various operating units within the Dublin area.

· Proficiency in sign language would be advantageous
