Express is a specialty apparel and accessories retailer of women's and men's merchandise, targeting the 20 to 30 year old customer. The Company currently operates more than 600 retail stores, located primarily in high-traffic shopping malls, lifestyle centers, and street locations across the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and also distributes its products through the Company's e-commerce website, www.express.com .

The Accountant accurately and efficiently manages all aspects of accounting activities related to Marketing  E-Commerce.  This position is responsible for moderately complex accounting activities including Journal Entries, Checkbooks, Blackbooks and Financial Statements/Reports.  Provides insight into Marketing and E-Commerce activities to assist with forecasting and performs ad hoc analysis as needed. Duties include: 

1. Manage Marketing and E-Commerce Checkbooks and process related invoices. 2. Maintain all expenses (actuals estimates) timely and accurately.  Review expenses with owners to ensure that they are accurately recorded and accounted for in the Checkbooks by Month of Benefit (MOB).
3. Use General Ledger system and On-Line Spend Management system to process/research invoice issues and assist vendors and internal partners as needed.4. Provide Finance with Forecasting and Budgeting support through management of Checkbooks, Forecast files and General Ledger. 5. Communicate activities and unusual items that may drive variances and/or impact forecasts.  Research as needed. 6. Prepare Monthly Blackbooks and Month-End Journal entries accurately and timely and provide clear and concise explanations for Blackbook variances. 
7.  Ensure 100% completion of Marketing and E-Commerce journal entries and Blackbooks by Close Week deadlines.
8.  Process invoices and vendor chargebacks/claims accurately and timely to include new vendor setup. 
9.  Maintain financial and operational controls and procedures
