ACCOUNTANT (Accounts Receivable) Job in San Diego 92101, California Us

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant in our Accounting Department.

DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision:

Account for Aerospace/Defense commercial contracts, including reviewing contracts, preparing invoices and recording revenue, billed and unbilled accounts receivable

Ensure revenue recognition is in compliance with US GAAP and applicable company policies

Prepare and support government final and quick close-out invoices

Complete project and account reconciliations

Support audits government and financial audits

Interface with customers and work closely with the Contracts and Finance departments

Assure Company compliance with Financial Accounting Standards, Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and disclosed Company practices

Perform special projects as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting, along with six years or more years of progressive experience in accounting. Experience must include at least three years with a government contractor in an accounts receivable function, as well as significant experience with government contract invoicing

Must have excellent understanding of debits credits

Must demonstrate a complete understanding of FAR and CAS regulations as well as different contract types and revenue recognition rules

Must possess strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills

Must possess excellent computer skills especially with Excel

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

CMA, CPA, MBA or MS in Accounting

SAP experience desired but not required
