The High Intensity Training Center (HIT Center) of Jacksonville, FL is a state-of-the-art athletic development and human performance training center conveniently located on Phillips Highway near the Avenues Mall. Founded in 2003, the HIT Center has established itself as the area’s premier metabolic testing and training center and is staffed with the nation’s best exercise physiologists, sports scientists and athletic trainers. The HIT Center specializes in sports performance training for the elite athlete, from youth to professional, strength, conditioning and fitness training in one-on-one, small group and boot camps style classes, weight loss / gain, nutrition counseling, and has recently built a Human Performance Lab for base line metabolic testing and performance tracking.
The Hit Center is a fast paced environment with a dynamic Executive Director and engaging owners. To support continued growth and expanding service offerings, the HIT Center is seeking a qualified accountant to fill the position of Accountant / Bookkeeper. We are seeking candidates that view flex time and/or reduced hour as a great opportunity.
Reporting to the Executive Director; this is a hands-on position and has full accountability for the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of the company’s book of accounts (Quick Books), client billing system (EZ Facility), maintaining internal controls and financial reporting. The position is responsible for performing all accounting related activities, including obtaining appropriate sign-off and approvals, preparation of monthly payroll, A/P and A/R, performing all month-end closing activities, and act as a primary contact for the banks, auditors and owners of the business. The position also has administrative responsibilities which includes managing vendor, supplier and landlord relations, act as the point of contact for all IT related matters, maintaining designated areas in the soon to re-launch HIT Center website (www.thehitcenters.com) and newly launched HIT Center Network (www.thehitnetwork.net), oversight responsibility for front desk operation, and other administrative activities for the Executive Director as they arise.
Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Accounting
Experience / Skills Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface in a professional and courteous manor with clients, suppliers and staff
- Experienced in all relevant accounting functions sufficient to support a small business’s accounting and reporting needs
- Familiarity with using, updating and posting on social media sites is required as the position requires regular postings on promotions and special offers.
- Superior Quick Books experience including managing the chart of accounts, transaction processing, reconciling with bank billing systems plus customer cash application and custom report development
- Microsoft Office: strong Excel skills, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- IT savvy, and familiar with how to mange material on social media sites
- Successful in both a larger company and small/private company setting
- Working in a service oriented, high transaction / low price point revenue cycle business ideal
- Detail oriented, very organized with superior accounting and book keeping skills
- Self motivated, able to anticipate issues before they arise and recommend solutions.
- Can understand and get-into the details, yet able to convey the big-picture financial and operating performance of the business to the Executive Director and Owners
- Can standardize and maintain a set of Quick Book reports for interim and monthly reporting, and lead monthly reviews with management
- Managed payroll, including bonus and commission plans
- Have had some administrative, operations and/or office management experience
- Has demonstrated the ability to set direction and execute
- Works well independently and with minimal supervision

Pay range: Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications: target range $15.00 - $25.00 per Hour depending on experience and work hours.
