Brightoil Petroleum Group is one of the largest private petrochemicals companies in China. We are a fast growing group specialized in petroleum products including storage and terminals, wholesale, oil and gas exploration, marine bunkering and international trading.
Brightoil Petroleum is engaged in overseas business development, including international oil product trade, overseas oil exploration, business development and participation in international oil market operation. Due to our business expansion, we are seeking high calibre and dedicated professionals to join us in a dynamic and challenging environment as Accountant GL and Stock control.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform closing of the monthly accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work with Settlement to reconcile AR, AP and inter-co accounts
- Generate and analyse monthly financial statements for the legal entity in USA
- Review earnings and provide variance explanation (actual vs plan actual vs previous)
- Assist in preparing the daily, weekly and monthly presentation deck in regards to PNL (actual vs plan), working capital and analysis of costs.
- Reconcile earnings with front office to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
- Perform Inventory reconciliation from book balances (in SAP) to physical balances from terminal and barge operators.
- Prepare monthly audit schedules and provide support to holding company for any queries during audit
- Reconciliation of sales and purchases in SAP against the manual reports.
- Perform inventory revaluation and calculation of COGS
- Account for realized and unrealized gain/loss of future/option trading (both hedging and speculative)
- Reconcile management accounts (MA) to management information (MI) reports
- Liaise external auditors for interim and annual audit purpose
QUALIFICATIONS AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with at least 5 years experience in all aspects of GL accounting, CPA preferred
- Proficient in MS office product (Excel), familiar with SAP or other ERP systems
- Ability to manage daily/monthly/quarterly duties with on-going projects and communicating the status of assignments.
- Ability to work with others to accomplish departmental goals and implement process changes. Demonstrate teamwork inside and outside immediate area of responsibility.
- Ability to communicate well with front, mid and back office. Listens attentively, seeks to understand others viewpoints, and tests for understanding.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment with a focus on incorporating sound credit risk management in all commercial trading transactions.
- Industry Knowledge - good working knowledge of the energy trading and supply business from the front-to-mid-to-back office best practices.
- Experience in effective partnering with counter parties/operation/front office teams
- A self-motivated person with strong analytical skills and ability to adapt in fast-pace environment.
- Experience with enterprise Trading and Financial systems and ability to manage data in a multiple systems environment.
