Job Description:
Purpose/Role Statement
Boston Scientific’s Corporate Accounting Group is responsible for recording, reporting, and analyzing financial transactions. The company is looking for a self-motivated, well organized, analytical, detail oriented individual to assist in the monthly close accounting process. The individual should possess strong communication skills, the ability to work with cross-functional teams, and a proven ability to manage concurrent projects in a fast paced, challenging environment and be eager to contribute to the success of the department and the company. The role will be focused on bringing process improvements to routine close activities with the opportunity to become involved in higher visibility projects..

Key Responsibilities

  • Account for global capitalized patent costs as well as quarterly impairment analysis of Patents in Progress
  • Account for litigation and settlement reserves including patent, product liability and other legal exposures.
  • Complete close activities including required reconciliations, preparing journal entries and accruals.
  • Create materials for monthly executive legal review meeting and board of director updates
  • Prepare Derivative accounting files and entries on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Assist with additional technical accounting and ad hoc projects.
  • Coordinate and assist in quarterly and annual reporting requirements

    Job Experience:
    Qualifications
    • The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting and 2 to 5 years of related work experience
    • Proficiency of Microsoft office applications, SAP, and/or Hyperion a plus
    • CPA a plus

    Minimum Education Required: Bachelor

    Years of Experience Required: 3-5 Years
