Accountant Job in Chicago Il, Illinois US
We have a Chicago-based distribution company that has a need for an Accountant for their accounting team. This position reports into the Controller, which will give you a wide range of exposure to all accounting and finance activities. The client would like to bring a candidate into the position on a temp-to-perm basis. For this role you will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare journal entries and analyze financial information.
- Assist with the preparation of billing detail for clients.
- Prepare bank account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Prepare supporting documentation for financial reporting.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial controls.
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
- Prepare vendor payroll input data for all employees.
- Assist in the processing of Union Health, Welfare, Pension and Union Dues documentation.
- Verify quarterly payroll tax reports.
- Perform variance analysis.
- Maintain accounts receivable agings and assist with collection activities
The ideal candidate will have two years of accounting experience. A degree is preferred, but not required. You must also have strong Excel skills, as well as familiarity with Peachtree and Delfour.
