Job Summary:
The Accountant provides supervision to data entry, assistance to the CFO in finance and accounting and backup to other employees and vendors in administration, contracts and operations. This position can have significant customer and vendor contact and must maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times under all circumstances.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervises data entry to ensure consistent timely reporting of all transactions.
· Reconcile bank accounts with assistance supervision of CFO.
· Maintain fixed asset ledger, establish asset tagging system, and maintain depreciation schedules.
· Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and various performance indicators
· Assist CFO to establish cost accounting and budgeting process and systems.
· Investigate actual cost vs. budget cost variances
· Provide back up in data entry check writing roles.
· Assist CFO in establishing contract administration process and provide back up to and supervision of contract administration.
· Reconcile real property transactions to real estate contracts and general ledger entries to ensure consistency and timing reporting.
· Provide backup in payroll preparation and administration.
· Assist CFO in risk management review and placement and management of insurance policies.
· Assist CFO in management of Information Technology and outside contractors
· Prepare general journal entries as appropriate
· Maintain subsidiary schedules of balance sheet accounts and reconcile monthly.
· Provide backup for issues in Human Resources
· Backup cash flow projections and reporting
· Provide coordination with Title Companies regarding purchases, sales, construction loans, trades, etc.
· Confirm title closing comport with contract and contract amendment terms and conditions.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in Business, Major in Accounting.
· One (1) to two (2) years of Business or Public Accounting experience.
