Accountant, Management Reporting

This position resides in the Corporate Accounting practice in our Finance function and the individual reports directly to the Supervisor of Internal Management Reporting. He or she supports the Internal Management Reporting Group in the areas of Financial Reporting, Master Data Management, and Internal to GAAP PL reconciliations. Additional responsibilities include special project work and ad hoc analysis. The position requires knowledge of both Finance and Accounting principles, proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and experience with Hyperion.
• Provide technical, analytical and administrative assistance during the monthly, quarterly and close processes.
• Engage in report validation and testing, including multiple allocation programs, currency translation calculations, financial ratios and metrics etc., maintaining detailed documentation and tracking and validating changes
• Perform analysis on reports: review revenue and expense account trends, identify research and investigate anomalies, drill down to ledgers or source systems as required. Recommend / prepare adjusting entries or corrective courses of action.
• Provide superior customer service to report user base, research and answer a broad range of reporting related queries.
• Provide life-cycle support for Reporting system change requests. Work closely with IT and other constituencies to execute and document, testing and validation procedures.
• Prepare, review and test "metadata" changes for Hyperion reporting system.
• Assemble and distribute monthly and quarterly reports management books to management staff.
• Perform testing support for reporting system changes or upgrades.
• Perform ad hoc analysis on a variety reporting related business issues, including detailed expense analysis
• Maintain and update reconciliations from Internal to GAAP reporting, present findings to management, and investigate balances as required
• Assist with questions or prepare materials for audit requests
• Finance or Accounting Degree
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and experience with Hyperion
• Hyperion Smartview for Excel experience is strong plus
• Facility with LAWSON, ORACLE or similar G/L software
• Ability to deal with large and complex databases
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
• Two or more years experience in internal reporting and / or financial analysis
• Ability to multi-task and deal with some volatility in workload
• Detail oriented, with a customer focus and positive attitude
