JOB DESCRIPTION
DEPARTMENT: Newedge Canada - Finance
JOB TITLE: Accountant
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the day to day accounting department tasks;
- Assist in the month-end process and year-end close;
- Assist Controller and Assistant Controller with:
- Accounts payable
- Reconciliation
- Financial analysis financial accounting
- Preparation of administrative reports
- Other duties or projects, as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Microsoft Office Suite knowledge essential (emphasis on Excel)
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent attention to details
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment with time constraints
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (English + French).
REQUIRED REGISTRATIONS:
Bachelor in Accounting or DEC (Cegep)
POSITION WITHIN HIERARCHY:
Reports to Controller
LEVEL OF AUTONOMY:
Takes direction from manager but needs to work independently
