Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly internal service billings related to payroll, pension, operating costs and corporate allocations among affiliates and entities.
Service billings are an automated function within the PeopleSoft financial system, but require hands-on processing to initiate the billing process.Prepare billings of Commercial Operations revenue among various power plants.Issue credit memos or miscellaneous invoices as required ensuring all amounts are properly billed.
Work closely with Accounts Payable and Treasury in the settlement of inter-company billings.
Perform various bank and inter-company reconciliations of parent company accounts.
Prepare various journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis of parent company accounting such as departmental accruals, insurance accounting, etc.
Analyze financial results and initial understanding of variances, accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for designated area of responsibility.
Assist with special projects as requested.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree with a concentration in business administration, accounting or equivalent experience, and one or more years experience with an emphasis on accounting.
Bachelors degree with a concentration in Accounting is preferred.
Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written).
Demonstrated ability to apply and follow job related policies and procedures.
Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
Persistence needed in order to resolve problems quickly.
Ability to work independently in team oriented culture.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with JDEdwards/Peoplesoft or similar ERP system preferred.
