Position Summary

Under direct supervision, responsible for assisting in recurring accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries,

maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger, preparing basic financial reports and monitoring internal controls

over financial reporting. Depends on others for instruction, guidance and direction.

The successful candidate will be involved in a wide variety of accounting activities within PPL’s Supply Segment

related to realized power transactions, including the participation in the monthly closing process, preparation of

monthly account analysis, management reporting, and participation in other special projects. The individual will

complete individual technical and business-related tasks as assigned timely, in accordance with applicable GAAP,

applicable SOX controls, and with a high degree of accuracy.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Prepares recurring accounting analyses, journal entries, and account reconciliations with a particular emphasis on

accounting for realized power transactions including PPL EnergyPlus’ Electric Retail business.

2. Assists in the preparation of financial statements and other internal/external financial reports.

3. Assists in the testing of internal controls over financial reporting.

4. Develops competence in assigned areas of responsibility by performing structured work.

5. Uses existing procedures to identify and recommend solutions to problems in assigned areas of accounting.

6. Builds knowledge of PPL Supply Accounting and relationships within the Front, Mid and Back Offices.

7. Willingness to work overtime, especially during closing processes, to ensure deadlines are met.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration.

Basic Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in business discipline with at least three accounting courses.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred.

2. CPA or CMA eligible.

3. Effective written oral communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications databases.

4. 2-4 years accounting experience preferred. 5 years accounting experience preferred for Staff Accountant. 5+ to 7

years accounting experience preferred for Senior Accountant.
