The Accounting Analyst is responsible for the reconciliation of all asset position data, investment transaction data, and trust accounting transaction data for portfolio accounts which includes analyzing and combining data from multiple sources into the proper format for uploading into our Portfolio Operations Accounting Software.
- Responsible bookkeeping activities within the Accounting and Custody department
- Provides support in the execution of tax preparation and tax production processes. Responsible for determining correct transactional coding for transactions (i.e. corporate actions, class action settlements, promissory note paydowns, real estate sales, etc.)
- Research infrequently held securities and correctly code
- Follows strict controls, policies and procedures. Reconciles and posts daily transactional downloads from primary custodial relationships
- Identifies and resolves variances as part of reconciliation processes
- Executes daily and month-end postings of security pricing information
- Knowledge of federal and state tax codes regarding trusts
- Working knowledge of charitable and taxable trusts
- Knowledge of proprietary and package trust, portfolio and tax accounting systems
- In collaboration with client teams, responsible for generating periodic profile, transaction and accounting reports
- Responsible for calculating the assignment of units for additions, maintaining market values
- Generates client invoices, endowment sub-accounting, all reconciliations, cash management and the proxy voting process
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ year experience in the investment / brokerage / financial services industry
- 2+ years Experience with portfolio accounting systems; Advent AxyS required
- Strong trust, tax and portfolio accounting skills. Four tier accounting knowledge
