Wayne State University Physician Group, one of southeast Michigan's largest multi-specialty practice groups which provides high-quality, patient centered care at more than 100 locaions spanning three counties, is currently seeking an Accounting Assistant to assist the finance department with accounts receivable/payable and other financial processes.

A qualified candidate will be responsible for providing office support which includes phone coverage, photocopying, filing and running errands. Updates, prints and distributes monthly financial information and employee demographics. Code all invoices and ensures that they are accurately entered into the accounts payable module on a timely basis.  Prepare documentation for invoicing the reimbursed operating expenses. Perform a wide range of typing task which include correspondence, forms, checks, invoices and financial reports. Review statements from vendors and requests from departmental units regarding unpaid invoices. Process and distribute checks. Provide cross-coverage as needed.

Accounting assistants employed at our organization are required to have a High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate Degree preferred. 1 -2 years experience in accounting or payroll. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.  Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain productive working relationships inside and outside the department. Operation of standard office equipment, specifically a calculator.
