Touchstone Advisors is a Merger Acquisitions (MA) firm providing advisory services to owners of privately held companies wishing to exit their business in an orderly fashion while minimizing its price. In contrast to main street business brokers, who sell businesses primarily to individuals for their “financial” value, we limit our engagements to manufacturing, distribution, and technology companies with an enterprise value of $1 million to $10 million dollars that will be sold on the basis of their synergistic and strategic value to other companies.

Job Description
The open position is based in Enfield, CT although the much of the job responsibilities can be performed from the associate’s home if desired. The applicant need not have any prior merger and acquisitions experience but will need an accounting background and the willingness to learn. The position is one supporting the MA advisor by:
· Gathering financial information from clients who often have limited accounting and business management experience;
· With the client, developing the information into meaningful tables and charts such as sales by customer, sales by geographic area, 5- year sales histories of top customers, sales by product line, gross profit by product line, historical working capital balances, etc.
· Preparing, analyzing and presenting historical and projected financial information (with the aid of financial software designed for that purpose);
· Coordinating and performing other types of financial due diligence in preparation of sale;
· Valuing companies and businesses with the aid of and under the supervision of the financial advisors to determine its financial, synergistic, and strategic value;
· Building relationships and maintaining direct contact with clients
Compensation
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour based on experience
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently. The environment at Touchstone Advisors is both collegial and entrepreneurial. Teamwork is essential to the firm’s success. The ideal candidate should be motivated, creative and outgoing with some financial analysis accounting skills such as a CPA or Company Controller.
