Our Operations team manages the architecture, definition, implementation and facilitation/consultation of quality processes and standards in alignment with business objectives and professional standards. We do this by adopting and creating best practices with a focus on driving continuous process improvement. Our team builds and promotes a quality oriented culture in the organization, through infrastructure, communications, and resource planning. We are looking for a candidate that can advance the quality and maturity of our audit team. The qualified team member will provide accounting guidance within our engagements as well as relevant accounting training to the team. The ideal candidate has the ability to understand the broad picture of what is happening at Dell and can help shape our risk assessment, our audit focus, and provide input to our audit teams. Further, the team member will lead ad-hoc projects to drive advancements in quality. Prior to trimester launch, evaluate engagement plans and make recommendations for accounting scope definition. Collaboratively develop test plans with the engagement teams. Provide accounting guidance to teams during engagements, enabling them to understand and evaluate the accounting of an operation for accuracy. Participate in planning, execution, and closing meetings to ensure accounting issues are appropriately addressed. Confirm that accounting related management action plans (MAPs) effectively address the control deficiency and mitigate risks identified. Anticipate and stay abreast of business trends and key issues, including regulatory requirements, general accounting principles, audit techniques and business practices. Continue to improve technical competency of the organization. Enhance focus on emerging accounting topics and risks. Attend Corporate Accounting training sessions. Partner with our learning and development team to deliver technical accounting training globally. Desired Knowledge/Skills include: Ability to identify and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills at all levels within the organization Demonstrated understanding and firsthand experience with all phases of audit processes Knowledge of or the ability to learn Dell's audit framework and process methodology Solid analytical and problem-solving skills Robust knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP), as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements and frameworks including IFRS, IIA, COBIT, PIPEDA, and PCI. Qualifications Qualifications: Advanced accounting degree required Corporate Tax experience with an understanding of GAAP as it applies to Tax, a plus Professional designation or eligibility is required (CPA, CIA, CMA or equivalent relevant certification) Minimum 5 to 7 years work experience, with experience in Internal Auditing and/or public accounting Prior experience of monthly accounting cycles and procedures to include financial reporting Attention to detail and ability to provide and receive feedback is key Experience conducting financial/operational audits at a Fortune 500 company is a plus Sarbanes-Oxley experience is a plus Skilled in MS Office Productivity Tools Familiarity with Dell's financial reporting systems a plus "MOAM5"Dell is an Equal Opportunity Employer To learn more about our commitment to Diversity Inclusion, visit:Equal Employment Opportunity Policy Statement
