Accounting Director (Patient Accounting) Job in Dearborn 48124, Michigan US

The Director, Patient Accounting is responsible for the overall direction and management of patient accounting services for a Physician Services Revenue Cycle client. The entire domestic Patient Accounting staff report directly to the Director. Offshore Patient Accounting resources assigned to the client have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Director. The Director ensures that patient accounting services are delivered according to standards and client-specific Service Level Agreements. The Director ensures that standardized operating methods, procedures, and performance standards are implemented and followed. The Director reports to the Senior Director, Physician Revenue Cycle Services Patient Accounting and has a dotted line relationship to the Client Executive for the client account.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:
Implementation of standard workflows, policies, procedures, and performance metrics, standards and tracking methods for:
o Medical coding
o Charge capture
o Billing
o Accounts receivable management
o Payment posting
o Denial management
Management of daily operations of the Patient Accounting function, including auditing and enforcement of quality and compliance standards
Management of the assigned Patient Accounting staff, including all administrative management functions as well as quality and productivity monitoring and management
Reporting on operational performance and results to the Client Executive, the client, and the Revenue Cycle Operations chain of command
Planning and management of the integration of the Revenue Cycle functions of new physician practices into the overall client organization and operation
Coordination with the Patient Access organization to ensure smooth operation of the Revenue Cycle.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-10 years of increasingly responsible positions in physician revenue cycle services with an emphasis on patient accounting
- Demonstrable knowledge of physician billing and collection procedures and regulations
- 3-5 years of experience managing patient accounting operations
- Undergraduate degree (or equivalent life/work experience), preferably in healthcare administration or business administration
- Demonstrable experience in the design, documentation and implementation of workflows, policies and procedures
