Accounting Manager; Europe Job in Geneva, Genève Switzerland
Our Client, HQ in Geneva, is a web portal company servicing a niche industry on an International level. Our client is currently looking for an experienced accountant for a temporary coverage of 6-7 month, starting in Q3-2012. The successful candidate will have a on-the-job training and shadowing for 1-2 months before taking over the role.
The Role
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in the finance function. The role has responsibility for reporting the results of the corporate legal entities and all the accounting processes necessary to achieve this.
- Preparation of monthly financial results
- Preparation of the year end results and managing the day-to-day relationship with the auditors during this process
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts
- Assisting the CFO in the forecasting and budgeting process for the corporate entities
- General ledger accounting, inter-company transactions, expense processing, cash and bank
- Responsible for the preparation, obtaining approval and processing of all payments
- Payroll accounting and the completion of VAT returns
- Maintaining the internal control system
- Leading the accounting team
- Undertake project work as required
Profile
- Bachelor Degree in Finance or Economy
- Min 5 years professional experience of accounting, preferably in an international environment
- Working knowledge of IFRS and Swiss GAAP (OR)
- Good systems skills
- Fluency in English French required. Any other language would be an asset
- An ability to exercise effective judgment within constrained timescales
- Remains confident and calm in pressurized circumstances
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Sets high professional standards for self and others
