Accounting Manager Job in Berkeley, California Us

The primary responsibility of the Accounting Manager is to manage the U.S. accounting activities, close the books and manage the accounting staff.

 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

 

·      Month end close activities for U.S. operating companies, and ensure timely closing of books.

·      Manage and coordinate all Company accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and financial reporting.

·      Supervise staff in preparation and review of account reconciliations and other relevant schedules; develop and train accounting staff where necessary.

·      Ensure compliance with GAAP.

·      Ensure accurate processing of accounting transactions.

·      Review and analyze financial reporting for accuracy and completeness to meet tax and management reporting requirements.

·      Supports and maintains accounting systems and controls to verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data.

·      Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.

·      Assist external auditors in audits and reviews.

·      Play a lead role in implementing a new ERP system to be used Company wide.

·      Complete other business-related activities as dictated by the business and management.

 

Qualifications include (but not limited to):

 

·         B.S. Degree in Accounting.

·         5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

·         Knowledge of GAAP.

·         Knowledge of corporate tax preferred.

·         Manufacturing experience a strong plus.

·         Advanced expertise with accounting software: SAP (Business 1) a strong plus.

·         Cost accounting experience preferred.

·         ERP implementation experience preferred.

·         Strong written and oral communication skills.

·         Strong interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle a wide array of responsibilities in a timely manner.

·         Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
