Job Description:
Our client, a world class industry leader, has a terrific opportunity available for an Accounting Manager. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with competitive benefits.
This role is responsible for managing all company accounting functions, as well as performing some accounting functions such as managing monthly and year end close, reporting to external auditors (Big 4) as well as quarterly audits with their bank and forecasting. The Accounting Manager will prepare for and attend the audits. The ideal candidate is strong in Credit and AR functions.
They will also be responsible for managing a staff of approximately 10 people comprised of staff accountants and accounting clerical professionals.
Viable candidates must be degreed in Accounting, have 5-15 years of corporate accounting experience, with much experience for a manufacturing company, have a strong working knowledge of AS400 and Microsoft Excel. Must have previous experience managing an accounting staff. Ideal candidates will be well versed in a myriad of accounting principles and functions i.e. GL, audit, sales use tax, month end close, year end close, forecasting, AR, credit, credit holds, AP, etc. SAP is a big plus.
Required Attributes: Personable and approachable. Ability to earn the trust of their staff and lead by example. A "hands on" manager who will manage and work alongside their team. Ability to work 50-60 hours per week, as necessary.
