Accounting Manager Job
The Accounting Manager is responsible for general accounting, financial systems, financial and governmental reporting for the business unit. Functions as primary interface with Division Headquarters Office regarding periodic financial reporting. This position supervises the payroll, accounts payable, general accounting, billing, sales accounting (includes commission payments and agent/distributor programs) and financial systems for a user perspective. Provides Plant Operations Manager and other personnel with financial and general business input and guidance.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Responsible for financial and operational reporting of plant operations.
2. Maintain proper internal control and financial system integrity for the operation.
a. Produce financial results compliant to GAAP and Cooper policy.
b. Maintain integrity of standard costs in financial system and proper inventory valuations, reviewing new product costs for accuracy and completeness before release.
c. Plan, conduct and reconcile annual physical inventory and on-going cycle counting.
d. Coordinate and respond to internal / external audits of the operation.
e. Timely complete monthly account reviews / reconciliations.
f. Ensure control environment consistent with SOX requirements.
3. Understand and report operational statistics and metrics; be heavily involved in improving the overall operation and manage risk of plant level activities.
4. Perform and/or direct derivative analysis, complex journal entries and other accounting functions.
5. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close along with reporting of all monthly results.
6. Analyze, identify and minimize manufacturing variances.
7. Develop, plan and implement activities around quarterly review, audits, annual budgets, etc.
8. Maintain integrity of standard costs in financial system and proper inventory valuations, reviewing new product costs for accuracy and completeness before release.
9. Coordinates fixed asset management systems with Division for business unit and subsidiaries.
10. Responsible for the timely and accurate submission of periodic reports to governmental and outside organizations and agencies, including but not limited to; tax reporting, SEC filings, insurance reporting, Corporate reporting, sales and use tax reporting.
11. Special projects as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:
Bachelor’s Degree Accounting, advanced degree preferred
SAP experience desired
2-3 years General Accounting supervisory experience in an operations/manufacturing environment
Proven knowledge of and application of mainframe and PC-based financial systems
CPA desirable
Complete working knowledge of a standard cost system, ERP system and all cost functions.
Knowledge and experience in meeting reporting requirements for upper management and client plant operations.
Strong skill sets in Excel and Microsoft Office, including proficiency in PowerPoint
Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers.
Strong organizational and work management skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage several projects at once and deliver timely results.
