Accounting Manager, Technical Accountant recruitment
My client is an essential part of the global capital markets, providing credit ratings, research, tools and analysis that contribute to transparent and integrated financial markets.
They currently have an opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong technical knowledge to join their global finance controllership team. The team is responsible for group US financial reporting, local statutory reporting and financial controls for each of the EMEA offices.
This role however involves virtually no business as usual work with the key focus being on technical accounting, statutory audit planning and internal controls. This is an exciting senior role where you will enjoy variety and an opportunity to gain exposure to the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop audit timetable and liaise with auditors, reporting managers and local accountants to ensure consistency and best practise of the external audit process
- Respond to EMEA technical resource for answers on USGAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS
- Write up memorandums on complex accounting transactions
- Provide in house updates and training on changes to accounting rules and areas of specific interest to the team
- Research local GAAP implications for new offices / entities and acquisitions
- Support the IFRS / USGAAP convergence project
- Update and review the internal control processes and provide training to new team members on the internal control process
The successful candidate:
- Qualified accountant from a top 10 firm.
- Experience within practise with exposure to large group structures. Preference would be from a technical team.
- Excellent knowledge of USGAAP and IFRS
- Strong IT skills - word, excel and powerpoint
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
