Accounting Supervisor
Responsibilities CHS / Solbar has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to ensure the financial statements are accurately presented and the accounting and human resource departments operate smoothly and efficiently. You must be a self starter, able to multi-task in a fast paced environment, and have the ability to make independent decisions. You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will: Collaborate with others across the division to ensure successful business processes and procedures are in place and followed to meet established business objectives. Work closely with plant management and production teams. Reconcile bank account, intercompany accounts, purchasing cards, accounts receivable; and create multiple journal entries Oversee the daily cash function; approve accounts payable invoices; create cash postings for payments received via wire transfer or ACH; prepare billings for commercial warehouses; and prepare property tax renditions Prepare monthly financial statements reports and production reports for SSC; examine and revise SSC policies as necessary Maintain accurate inventories, reconcile inventory differences, prepare monthly inventory reports Ensure payroll processed correctly and salary information reported timely Prepare and oversee the budget for the local operation in South Sioux City. Ensure compliance of policies, procedures, regulations and department goals are met. Interview, hire, evaluate and manage direct reports. Provide feedback and coach for success. Maintain a comprehensive employee training program. Interface with IT staff to resolve systems issues and work to develop and enhance systems for a changing business environment. SOX/Trade rule review and updates in order to maintain internal control policies and procedures. Lead process improvements to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of the accounting area. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business 5 years of Accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP 3 years experience as an accounting lead with supervisory responsibilities Strong computer skills are necessary and a working knowledge of Microsoft office. Able to work extended hours during month-end and year-end Preferred Qualifications Understanding of Human Resource laws and regulations CHS offers a Competitive Salary.
