Responsibilities include providing support for the Bureau Electronic Travel System (ETS), GovTrip and serving as a Bureau Federal Agency Travel Administrator (FATA) back-up, respond to questions regarding allowable travel expenses, resolving conflicts or issues related to travel, processing temporary duty, and extended duty travel vouchers, and providing technical assistance and guidance to employees. To meet specialized experience, your resume must describe experience that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined below: GS-5 - One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-4 level in the Federal Government. Examples of specialized experience at this grade include, experience with automated travel accounting systems and experience with a limited body of accounting techniques, procedures, and regulations. Experience using verbal and written communication to explain procedures and regulations to various audiences, drawing on customer service techniques. This grade level also requires experience processing various accounting transactions and prioritizing work to meet deadlines. GS-6 - One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal Government. Examples of specialized experience at this grade include, experience with automated travel accounting systems and experience with a body of accounting techniques, procedures, and regulations. Experience using verbal and written communication to explain procedures and regulations to various audiences to include mangers, drawing on varying customer service techniques. This grade level also requires experience processing travel accounting transactions and prioritizing work to meet deadlines. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may also qualify on the basis of education as follows: GS-5: 4 years above high school. GS-5 Combination of Education Experience: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grades GS-5. GS-6- Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. This position does not have an education requirement. This vacancy announcement allows substituting education for experience.
